WHO WE ARE

At the Junior Naturalist Club, we believe that every child is born with an innate awareness and curiosity that guides them in their relationship with nature. Our mission is to help deepen the connection that children have with nature by cultivating their curiosity and encouraging them to explore the natural world within their reach using all their senses. We believe it is important, now more than ever, to help children develop a perspective of interconnectedness and an understanding that we are all an integral part of the natural environment which can be found in the here-and-now of our daily lives.

“We” are Julie and Bill. Learn more about us here.

WHAT WE DO

We don’t have to travel to the heart of the wilderness to help our children develop a heart for nature. Exposure to the natural world, even the wonders found in our own yards and neighborhood parks can be a source of inspiration and innovation. With this in mind, The Junior Naturalist Club has created a series of short, engaging videos that provide children with interesting activities to complete in their own outdoor space. Each video includes a set of written instructions and tips for further investigation. We explore such topics as creating habitats, planting seeds, designing nature crafts, learning to interpret signs from nature, observing the night sky, and most importantly, experiencing nature as fully as possible and having fun while doing so! Click here to view examples of our lessons.
